Company Name: AGEntertainers Limited

Company Number: 15552938

Trading As: Mindsways Magic

Date of Issue: 16 March 2026

Review Date: 17 March 2027

Location: Various (In-Person Events: Parties, Corporate, Stage)

Part 1: Method Statement

How the work is safely carried out.

  1. Arrival & Logistics: The Performer will arrive at the venue 30–60 minutes prior to the show. Equipment is transported via wheeled flight cases to minimize manual handling risks.

  2. Site Induction: Upon arrival, the Performer will identify the venue’s Responsible Person (under Martyn’s Law) to confirm evacuation routes, “Invacuation” (lockdown) points, and emergency alarms.

  3. Setup: * Cabling: All power cables for sound/lighting are routed away from guest foot traffic and secured using professional-grade hazard tape or cable ramps.

    • Stability: Stage props and backdrops are checked for stability. If the floor is uneven, the Performer will not deploy top-heavy props.

  4. Performance: * Close-up: The Performer maintains a “safe circle” when using sharp objects (e.g., scissors for rope magic).

    • Stage: Audience members invited on stage are guided via the safest route (stairs/ramps) and supervised at all times.

  5. Pack-down: Equipment is checked for damage during packing. The area is left clear of any small props or debris (e.g., elastic bands, card scraps) that could pose a slip or choking hazard.

Part 2: Risk Assessment

Part 3: 2026 Safety & Security Compliance

1. Martyn’s Law Preparedness (Standard Tier)

In 2026, we recognize our role in the wider security of the event.

  • Communication: In the event of a security incident, the Performer will use their microphone (if applicable) to calmly relay venue-directed instructions to the audience.
  • Suspicious Items: The Performer will identify and report “HOT” (Hidden, Obvious, Typical) items to venue security immediately.

2. Health & Hygiene

  • Contact Magic: While “hand-to-hand” magic is a staple, the Performer carries hand sanitizer and ensures props are cleaned between events to maintain post-pandemic hygiene standards.

  • Balloons: For safety and environmental reasons, we use a pump for all balloon modeling (no mouth inflation) and only use biodegradable latex.

Part 4: Declaration

AGEntertainers Limited (T/A Mindsways Magic) confirms that all performances are conducted with the highest regard for public safety. We carry £10,000,000 Public Liability Insurance and a full Enhanced DBS Check, which are available for inspection upon request.

Subsection: Special Effects & Sharp Objects (RAMS Add-on)

Part 1: Method Statement (Handling & Storage)

  1. Modification of Props: Where the effect allows, sharp edges are professionally dulled or “blunted” to reduce the risk of accidental laceration without compromising the illusion.

  2. Pre-Show Inspection: All sharp props are inspected for burrs, rust, or structural weakness before every performance.

  3. Secure Containment: Sharp objects are never left “loose” on tables or in pockets. They are stored in dedicated, puncture-proof containers or specialized holders within the performer’s case.

  4. Controlled Performance Zone: During any routine involving sharp objects, the Performer will ensure a 2-meter “sterile zone” between themselves and the audience.

  5. Audience Participation: No audience member will be asked to handle the sharp edge of a prop. If a guest is asked to “verify” an object, it will be presented in a way that ensures their hands remain clear of any hazardous points.

  6. Safe Disposal: Any single-use sharps (e.g., needles or blades used in “swallowing” or “threading” illusions) are disposed of immediately after the set into a yellow clinical sharps bin, which the Performer carries. These are never placed in standard venue waste bins.
